The birth of a queenA Poem by Bushra NaqshbandiOkay princesses! So we've all faced moments where we feel that death is the only way out. Here'a an absolutely brief account of one such incident-a betrayal faced by a princess and how she handles it.
She lay there wishing fervently for physical death
Knowing that heartbreak had made her die within She was the princess who had been overthrown Ousted in a plot hatched by her most trusted adviser. ...And she still loved him! Loved that traitor!... ..No wonder death felt like the only escape... But when death came, she fought like a warrior; The warrior that she had been born And that was the moment things changed forever. From the remains of the shattered princess, Sprang up a queen who knew her worth and might She laughed as she raged a battle and was victorious The castle was under her supreme command from then. She knew she'd have to build a moat and a fortress - Necessary protections that she'd overlooked the last time. She took on the job of protecting the castle herself now Locked up the drawbridge to her heart and hid the key safely. No intruder was ever getting past her again. © 2016 Bushra NaqshbandiAuthor's Note
