The Shattered Dream

The Shattered Dream

A Poem by Malcolm J. Watt

Failure may not be so flawed.

The Shattered Dream

I have lived the shattered dream

It was more than what it seemed

Everything I had was put into storage

I soon learned to enjoy my porridge

Though the struggle of the daily forage

Was often more than I could bear

In a world that does not spare

Those so illbegotten

Twice removed and forgotten
