Save MeA Story by Kat LochJust a little spurt of writing that came to me one day.
Red. Black. White.
Colors splatter the room, overlapping one another. In the dim room, sits a young girl. Merely a child, as others had said. She breathes heavily with her eyes shut tightly, not wanting to view the nightmares taunting her in the shadows. Her black dress is torn from tugging when Death threatens to take her. Black and white stockings cover her scuffed legs. Her pale hands were pressed against her ears, wishing for the terror to leave. Cold heart pumping fast, voices jump about her head, as does song lyrics trying to cover up the voices. She opened her eyes slowly, watching the door. Its brass handle turns and turns, never opening. Knowing better than to trust the illusions, she ignores it and looks higher up. Please. Let me be saved. Let someone burst through that door to take me and leave this horror behind. Please. Tears slip from her green eyes, pain visible upon her plain face. Save me from myself… © 2011 Kat LochFeatured Review
