Grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.A Story by Kat LochShe ripped the flowers from her hair, tears streaming down her face as the golden sun started to inch its way across the purple sky. She drew in a shaky breath and paused for a moment as she turned her face up to the sky, feeling the weight of the day crash onto her as she stood helplessly. Her chest rocking with heavy sobs, her knees bent and she fell into the summer grass, its cool blades kissing her scars and whispering what she needed to hear. Her shaky hands picked up the daisy she had picked earlier, feeling the memory kiss her with soft lips, and she fought to stay propped up. The life felt as though it was crumpling inside of her and her skin ached with ancient memories. She shut her eyes, a little piece of her hoping that it would help chase away every destructive storm she had raging inside of her. Every ounce of strength leaked out of her, leaving her to fall into the damp grass. Tears slid slowly down her face as her eyes fluttered open to meet the saffron light. She wondered what it was like to be that radiant"that beautiful"and to not feel the agony of human thoughts. Digging her fingers into the soft earth, another wave of pain and frustration flooded through her body and she questioned what death would feel like"and if it was close to what this was. © 2013 Kat LochAuthor's Note
