Our World Is CryingA Poem by David BurkeHopefully it's a wake up callHow are we all still living?, this world is so corrupt The way we see and treat each other, it's just so messed up We judge each other by our color, or maybe how we're built And no one is ever happy, until someone's blood is spilt We know racism is an excuse, but we keep playing it's game We're all too proud to be different, no one wants to be the same We need to stand together, and fix the problems now Or I can guarantee you, that we'll all be in the ground This world will not be peaceful, until no one makes a sound So where are all our morals?, that came from God above Was the peace and kindness he provided just not good enough? Why is hate the only solution, that we are ever given? Is this really the kind of world you want to show your children? The world that I grew up in, taught me everyone is equal So in my mind there are no races, all I see are people I don't care what shade of skin or gender you may be White, black, orange, or purple; we're all the same to me I know the world has the ability to think the way I do I'm sure that you don't like the way that others may judge you So instead of fighting back, how bout we just make a change We can start a new race, and human will be it's name Because if we don't the world we have will always be the same So how does the world keep turning?, I think no one can explain Because this world of ours is crying, only we just call it rain © 2013 David BurkeFeatured Review
