Fatal AttractionA Poem by David Burkea pain I'm sure we all have feltWas it her eyes that stole my heart that day? Or the way that she would say my name? That made my heartbeat skip for days That changed me in so many ways That got me on my knees to pray Asking god to let her stay No, I'm pretty sure it was her smile That made me want to stay awhile That made my heart and lungs go wild So cunning like a crocodile Or maybe it was her velvet skin That stroked my face from cheek to chin That held my hand through think and thin That filled my blood with lustful sin Or maybe it was when I heard her voice Maybe that's when I made my choice It was the songs of heaven that her voice sung That took the words that graced my tongue But the feelings we shared were ever so young I guess that's why it fell apart And almost killed my broken heart She said she didn't know how she feels Like what we had might not be real So I guess her beauty was just a distraction That lured me to this fatal attraction
