Thank You

Thank You

A Poem by David Burke
"

a prayer

"

Some words are rarely spoken, I want to talk about two

The first one is Thank, the second is You

Thank you,

Thank you lord for my life, and my health

Thank you for the years you put me through hell

Thank you for bringing me the people I've helped

Because without that experience, I wouldn't know myself

You taught me to love, when I wanted to hate

To put my faith in you rather than fate

When I felt like I lost, you taught me to win

Thank you for sending your son to die for my sin

Thank you for being there when I needed a dad

Thank you for the friends I have, and I've had

Thank you for the family you gave me that loves me

Thank you for teaching me to put others needs above me

I know I don't deserve all the gifts that you've given

So lord I want to say thank you for letting me keep living

Thank you for my cold heart that's finally melted

Thank you for touching me lord, because I finally felt it
