Forever Changed

tribute to my second family

Friends come and go, but family is forever

 and no matter what happens, family always sticks together

 it was through these words, that I gained a new understanding

 but do you have to be blood to be considered a family?

 What about my friends, who have loved me from the start?

 Who put me back together when my heart was torn apart yes

 I have two families, but this isn't a competition

 I'm just saying the word family has another definition

 they're more than just the people who's blood runs through your veins

 they're the people who are there for you and take away your pain

 they show you where the light is, when you're stuck in the dark

 and when you think you're life is over, they show you where it starts

 I know that they'll be with me, no matter where I go

 because their memories are forever, like tattoos on my soul

 you've changed my life in many ways, that I just can't explain

 you touched my heart, and I absorbed your love; leaving me forever changed
