Just Another Game WonA Poem by ashley.centers
The chime of the doorbell rings.
Music pumps inside. BYOB is on the minds of the young, hardly innocent. There's not a sober body in the place. Slurred shouting fills the air. Booming laughter grabs attention as spilled Budweiser pools in shag carpet and across acid wash jeans. Burnt popcorn faces rejection. Outside, the air smells of weed, useless banter and humorless jokes. Filtered cigarettes and bonfire smoke rises in a plume to hang heavily in a cloud above the drugged faces after the Friday night football game.
