The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life

A Poem by xxxrawr_friendxxx
"

"None of us will live forever, but until our forever ends we'll keep waiting." <-- That's a quote from "Lifespan of a Universe" by my friend Morgan (Sk!liner) and it's awesome.

"

The tree of life loses a leaf each day.

Slowly, but surely, eroding away.

Eternity isn't forever; it's as long as we can stay,

But a light is shining bright.

Green and lively, a beautiful contrast,

But every waking day is sad.

The feeling of warmth surrounds it at last,

A scorching light, blindingly luminescent.

A breeze flows through it's crisp hair,

An empty scent hangs in the air.

That lovely feeling's no longer there,

A shimmer through fog and cloud.

Wrinkled and dry, it's days are done,

What something so beautiful has become.

The frosty days, the ghost of a sun,

There is no longer a light.

Yes, every stanza does indeed remind me of a season. You've connected the beauty of nature to the emotions of the writer; well done! The first and last stanza's impress me the most, I enjoyed this poem. Great job!

It seems like it goes from winter to spring to fall to winter again. But very good
