What’s Happening?

What’s Happening?

A Poem by Starlight Moon and Aly Jones

What’s happening?
I’m on overload
Everyone’s running past me
I just wish this could’ve gone easier

Was I too hard?
Was I not thinking clearly?
What happened to us?

I’m going out with my girls tonight
I’m not gonna let you effect me
I’m my own person
I make my own decisions

What’s happening?
I choose love over hate
Just stop and listen to me!

Your words
They pierce right through me
They make me want to cry
They make me wish I could hate you

I don’t want everyone’s sympathy
I’m stronger than they think
I’m wiser than you see

You called me names
You’ve hit me more than once
And all I want to do now is scream
But I’m forced to bit my tongue and take the pain

We once saw eye-to-eye
We were connected by the hip
We used to get each other
Now we’re complete strangers

What’s happening?
I choose love over hate
Just stop and listen to me!

Love is a strong emotion
It can fill up the world
Hate sometimes wins
Turns you into a stranger of who you really are

What’s happening?
(What’s happening?)
Someone tell me what happened!
(Anyone)
I have so many questions
(They keep me up at night)
Will someone help me?
(Through the pain you’ve given me)

What’s happening?
I choose love over hate
Just stop and listen to me …
