Anime Phase

Anime Phase

A Poem by BJ "Bunneh3000" Brown
"

Sometimes it is amazing how angry we can get in the midst of a relationship. At times it gets to a point that pushes us over the edge of no return. From my upcoming book "ExIsT"

"

Her words played darts with my ears

thudding about my lobes as she probes

wrecklessly for my reaction. In fact

my canal might as well have been a barrel

'cause every word that reached me carried

primal screams of singing samurai swords clinging

rage so strong proving my affection.

Wobbly eyes open so wide

with disbelief and surprise at what's so undeniably

antangonistic...so smack-faced I thought i missed it

and put my C4 on pause because I wished it

wasn't the flame that ignited my fuse.

Her Fist of the North Star words burst both heart and head

How could someone ever use such wickedness

in the face of one they love?

So

I pressed blurred the world about me

and swung buckets of blood and fury

as I clinched in stillness, the rest quaked

a sickening unnatural shake to displace my reality state.

Air racing about me near sonic boom pace

such power at a level Akira could not make.

If her words were darts then shudder at my response

my words cratered earth beneath my feet before I spoke

mental conception peeled skin from her face

a wrath that cracked air about its path

and behind these words was disturbing pleasure

and an arctic blast.

Such an anime phase that I

surpassed the horror of collateral damage

and recovery is now impossible much less

able to be managed.

savage....self restraint in bondage.

'Us' in such rubble that dimensional cracks hang about me

ravaged...even tears quiver amidst the carnage.

Wow... You conveyed the way feelings tend to boil and break free once pushed over an edge extremely well. The reference to animes such as Akira helped define the essence of this poem. Every line captivated me because I wanted to know how far this person would go through his rage. That ending just did it for me and I applaud you. Thank you for sharing this poem!
