Unbearable Thoughts

Unbearable Thoughts

A Poem by BJ "Bunneh3000" Brown
"

based on thoughts and inspirations from Paramores - "Misguided Ghosts" To be featured in my upcoming book "ExIsT"

"

the echo of it

as it rings about my mind

leaves my heart spent and lost

paying a cost that has

no gain

no return

no receipt

while the speed of empty

paces me

tracing my smiles with mockery

a laughter that I just can’t take

it’s unbearable

to think of what is

what could have been

such distant ripples that still

toss me as they

surge and fall

forcing me to repeat the call

for relief

for the end

of this wrenching

so ghastly yet I’m not flinching

just gasping

at its effect and how long it’s lasting

impossible

impossible

So I compromise and exchange

my destructive flee

my Daytona 500 escape

for a purpose-filled me

one that pins that unbearable

upon breast

upon my chest

so that my heart may stand

taller

so that my mind may breathe. Not

falter

Because I’m convinced that this

insufferable piece of me

is meant to be

my downfall

so that I may

rebuild me

If only I could

bear the pain…
