Sing/Moan

Sing/Moan

A Poem by BJ "Bunneh3000" Brown

my heart never did sing
I two-stepped to their beat and left it
instead my call was like a moan to the pounding sun
harmonious howl while wiping tears with a towel
or was it sweat?
can’t tell anymore because they’ve both met
it’s some kinda special bitterness that’s nebulous
and somehow there is joy in that LOST they’re in
more like false comfort that keeps pain hidden
while anxiety hangs in the smoky air
and it clings to my towel and stings as I stare
at how they inhale, fight that hacking cough
so I push through the smoky chorus line
as they force those notes of insincerity
my moan still harmonizes with them
what a sound
such a sound

Awesome, I really like the ambiance you made and the alliteration you put in there. You're quite the pen-person in my opinion :)
