AJA Poem by BJ "Bunneh3000" Brown
I gave her kisses that numbered her life’s many dreams
one for each lust filled fantasy that didn’t include me
a few for each scream that escaped as she leapt awake
from the demons and failures the stalked her. But now
her skin cooed as I touched and wars ended
within muscles that fought off days of sadness
Instead my embrace fought them for her
safe and calm within she blended with my frame
to picture a view of us an improbable two
finally chiseled by life to fit what puzzled and pained
both for a time longer than time
bittersweet lyrics sung til tears are made
tender echoes of immaculate drops
wrapped sweetly in her smile
warm lips with curves that enticed like hips
now resting after delivering notes of ravishing praise
so engorged by the passion crash she rested
as I sip of each quiver my hands delivered her
I held her as she slept as if it was a miracle
as if her insomnia had pneumonia we drove away
anxiety’s bard if only for a moment
savory rise and fall oblivious to worry
and as she opened her eyes she cried
and I said…. I love and need you.
