Strange

Strange

A Poem by BJ "Bunneh3000" Brown

A strange woman kissed me last night
rebellion glowed in her hair
while forever played in her sight
my voice touched her needs
yet from her all hope still bleeds
and just when I thought she was pleased
she wept and said, “let me go…”

A strange chill comforted my sight
fate enjoyed the surrender in my stare
I gave up slowly with all my might
my lungs then fell to the floor
I shuddered and kissed her no more
and as I bathed my eyes in sudden disbelief
she whispered lovingly, “let me go…”

A strange song played for us that night
tears held hostage unfair
there in my arms without a fight
she’s relaxed and all stress concedes
all the while I thought my love succeeds
and as I held her tight in return of her embrace
she tried to believe her voice...
“let me go…”
