It’s the speech of non-leaders with no wealth but plenty mun-ay

It’s the NEW Hollywood scene and emcees are stars that play

roles in movies called albums and reality’s gone astray

 

New words and phraseologies

New fads and pop theories

for emcees its therapy

evolved fashion and poetry

 

to say what it is is hard, u know

Cause once u define it’s hard to grow

temptation to regulate will then confine

and then true death will end its line...

 

But thank God it’s in the heart and different with every beat

what it is in my rhythm won’t be the same as what you seek

That’s why it’ll never die, that’s why it’ll never quit

And as long as DJ’s still spin, then someone will always spit

I love my lil sis (Ilieavie) she has always been on the same page as me...it's like she reads my mind before i even get a chance to spit it out!!!

This is why i raised the question "What is real Hip Hop?" it can't be defined as a few bad rappers it's more than that and i don't think everyone knows that. So Thank you

this one is my favorite!! i like it so much cause it explains what its turning into but at the same time is sayin that it can never be defined or else it has the oppurtunity to die...plus i love the fact that you mention its in the heart, which implies it cant die.....iv read alot of different pieces about hip hop dying...living...being reborn...but none like this one...even though its simple with every read the complexity builds... i have a hard time explaining how i feel about certain things i have such strong feelings about, so i really appreciate this piece because i totally agree..
