The Perfect Partnership

They met through a study in pink,
A clear bond formed as quick as a blink.
Then they met a banker who couldn't see,
That working together, they'll beat the enemy.
And when one was losing a game so great,
The other was there and changed his fate.

Then came the woman with a scandalous scheme,
But not even her could get in between.
And when hounds lead the sure man to disbelief,
The other was there, providing relief.
So when the sure man came to fall,
His companion wanted to relive it all.

And though he survived, they both felt hollow.
But after they fought, love vanquished their sorrow.
Yet when one saw clearly a new sign of three,
He realized he was not part of that family.
And so he then made his first and last vow,
To always help his best friend, no matter how.
