Lost in a DreamA Poem by Bumble
A long time ago,
Beneath an old oak tree.
Cara lay there,
Dreaming of becoming famous.
Even dreams can become nightmares.
Feelings overbearing her in the big city.
Going nowhere it seems.
Hell is right at her heels.
If only she could get a break,
Just one break.
Kissing up to strangers to pay her rent.
Losing herself every night to the drugs.
Many nights she is in a different bed with different men.
Never did she think she would be here.
Over and over she tries to dig herself out of this hole.
Popping the whole bottle of pills, she
Quietly falls on her bed.
Resting her sunken in eyes,
She wishes that it didn’t have to end like this.
Time seems to slow down,
Under the blinking lights in her studio.
Venting her last thoughts of this world.
Why did it have to be like this?
Xanthous surrounds her as she goes.
Yapness for the pain to subdue.
Zitella finally can rest in peace.
