The Night of Fifty Thousand.

The Night of Fifty Thousand.

A Poem by Bullet Soul

Fifty thousand stars

But only one in sight

Fifty thousand dreams

But only one to reach.

Fifty thousand scars,

But only one this deep

Fifty thousand liars,

But only one for me.

The moment we touched,

I felt the magic flow.

The moment that I met you,

I knew our lives would change.

I know it sounds cliche,

But what else can I say?

Fifty thousand memories,

And you're the one that matters most.

Now I pray to God each day,

To take my life away,

To leave only love, to leave only hope

If it meant that one day, you could cope.

Fifty thousand knives,

With fifty thousand blades

Fifty thousand cuts,

Hide beneath your sleeves.

I'd give it all to save you

Despite the pain you've brought me.

I'd give my life to see you smile,

You make my pain worthwhile.

One day the music was not enough

And your life came to an end

I stand here holding your old things

Imagine you an angel, I imagine you with wings.

The house is empty all around me,

Tears make our hope so hard to see,

Blurry vision leaves me lost,

I'd give it all, no matter the cost.

Fifty thousand hearts

All beat in perfect rhythm

Fifty thousand wings

Stole my everything.

Fifty thousand stars

And still not one in sight

Fifty thousand dreams

That I will never reach.

Fifty thousand scars,

But only one this deep

Fifty thousand liars,

But only one for me.

Wow, this is fast moving, tear jerking and heart felt, laced with bloods passion and tinged with the pathos of a grave loss of a lover, or loved one. I thoroughly enjoyed this and felt an enormous amount of empathy from the reading. Your rhythm and rhyme work synchronously with only a couple small exceptions. I love the whole "Fifty thousand" theme and you developed and pulled it off with mastery. This is a sad but beautifully written piece which reminds us all of how fragile life is. Superb.....!

Fantastic work here.. I loved the flow and meaning behind this one! Very deep yet containing a mix of love, sadness, hope and faith. You have also portrayed a sense of selflessness even though beat down within this.. the biggest feeling was one of loyalty inside it even with loss. Great and beautiful.. truly felt this and think you did an incredible creative job on it!
