A Photoshop Dream.

A Photoshop Dream.

A Poem by Bullet Soul

I wrote this because I think we've all been affected by media and society in a negative way. I think we let magazines and such tell us how we should look and the kind of person that we should be. Ever girl nowadays has more than likely felt this way, so I thought this would be a subject that everyone could relate to.

Do you see her? The girl I’m meant to be?

She’s got potential; she’s a work of art

The stylish jeans, the perfect smile

My future is bright, is one like hers

I’ll look in the mirror, and see her face

Can’t you see that she’s my fate?

Her size two waist, her perfect career

All will envy, will stop and stare

Her eyes are ablaze, with golden fire

The center of gossip, of every girl’s dream

A goddess in heels, of every color

She does no wrong, a perfect angel

Did you see her? On this week’s magazine

Her silent confession that shattered our dreams

In this medication nation, she lost her way

Pumps drugs through her veins, and poison through her heart

She’s off to rehab, while we sit and wonder

Photographs are falsified, to tell us who to be

Tears in your eyes, envy in your heart

Will you ever be enough?

For a medication nation, with Photoshop dreams

Magazine covers, that tell you who to be

A twisted media, tells the worst kind of lies

Confidence destroyed, in the face of our society
