The Person You Could Be

The Person You Could Be

A Poem by Betty Duke

I don't want to change your nappy
nor put you in a crib at night,
I will not make you a bottle
at age forty nine it isn't right.

I am not your mommy
and your teacher I can't be,
I don't know you that well
but you're still a friend to me.

You say you are behaving
but your inner child runs free,
some think you are a pedophile
when you talk like you are three.

The internet hides the truth
and many don't understand,
they have never met you
or got to shake your hand.

You overdo the role play
with such a creative mind,
you seem to be forgiving
when one has been unkind.

I want to chat about poetry
and make publishing a plan,
please quit chatting baby
when you should be a man.

Haha, that's how to tell someone to man up. Seriously, this poem would name a few men out there (perhaps even women) acting like their someone else, younger, just to get in your head. It's creepy some times. And the internet has no help in it at all, what so ever.
