Endless Escape

Endless Escape

A Poem by Bud

Licorice strips glistening
With ruby-diamond drops,
Divided by lemon strings
Over vast seas of cotton swabs.

Mint-sprinkled fudge sticks
Standing in many a row,
As sparklers rise quickly
Into heaven’s throw.

Whispered zinging curtails
Buzzing through the air.
Many thoughts of wonderment
Flow beneath this hair.

Destinations unknown,
Riding within this mind.
It’s just another metaphor
Escaping in this rhyme.

A very fun read... almost like a trip back into the carefree days of childhood.
