Black and White

Black and White

A Poem by Buck
"

A poem born of experience.

"
My heart is pounding.
My ears, my skin burning.
My vision is throbbing.
Deep breaths feel shallow.

I'm at war with my own mind.
Clawing, grabbing, desperate to hold.
Slipping away, I can't stay.
My only hope is to fight.

Ice drops extinguish the fire.
Cool air feels fresh in my lungs.
My vision steadies but
My eyes see nothing.

The silence screams at me.
The light blinds me.
I'm stuck here, just as before.
Stuck in this black void.
Stuck in this white space.
