Whispers of goodbye

This is a heartbreaking poem which captures the rawness, grief and loss.

No one will love you
The way I do
As he said
Taking his final breath.
I sobbed ,plead the universe for some mercy
And asked not to let the love of my life die on me
But alas it was too late
To change his fate.
Cuz now he was really gone
Leaving me all alone on my own .
All I could do was sense his lingering body scent
Which made me remember the time we spent.
But the brutal reality hit me like a storm
Which made my life completely torn.
Tears rolled down my cheek
Making me go insanely weak.
I was still so much in shock
That I could barely even talk.
His warm body temperature slowly abandoned
As now he was finally declared dead .
The warmth which I always craved
That body was now being engraved.
But now that you are away from this worldly misery
I'm happy that atleast you don't have to be in a hurry.
But do remember that I'll always love you
And will never forget the way you loved me too.

This is a very sad piece where lovers get separated due to the death of one of them. Their love is so strong, like only the physical form is dead. The feelings, memories, the space can never be dead. None other can replace this relationship. LThe last lines where the poet as if gives permission to the dying that she is happy that he no longer is in any hurry .. this a very immersive thought showing empathy and acknowledging even in the deepest loss . It sets the other physically free but is still full of love for the other. Love transcends even death. The poet is facing the storm of loneliness now in this world. How she wished the fate could be different and their companionship would survive. But weakly she realises it’s his end, the real love in her heart is her new world now ..She agrees to his declaration in the opening lines that his love for her is unmatched. Dear Bhagyashree the despair and grief is totally palpable and relatable in your poerty .. So well written! Keep writing and sharing..
