No Laughing MatterA Poem by BTazzThoughts of a person with a great personality, dealing with a few hard realities. What happens to a sense of humor? When life is no longer funny? When bills start to pile up because You make not enough money. When the climate of a relationship Correlates with income. When you do what you can to help one, Help two and then some. What perceptions come about With self preservation? When you'll go through whatever in this world Sacrificing just short of starvation. When an 'A' for effort is not enough, Good intentions yield a struggle. Thinking outside the box But all the while stuck in a bubble. What happens when you feel trapped? Fight or flight is kicking in. No wings, no red bull But you smell bs in the wind. When things go wrong, you know they will No matter how you try. With what fight you have left in you, You try to smile, but you just sigh What happens to a sense of humor? When life is no longer funny? When the things that made you smile Remind you today just isn' sunny. When it rains on every window, And you're feeling cold inside. What happens to a sense of humor? When favor is back on your side? © 2014 BTazzFeatured Review
