Man in the mirrorA Poem by BsannnWhat have you become? What happened to you? Imagine where you'd be if you made a few different judgment calls. Bearing this weight is something you never were ready for. Your lungs breathe in hope, but breathe out lies. You're a shadow of what you used to be, a shadow so dark, so broken that I can still see you when the lights are off. You act as if I don't notice, like I wasn't beside you this whole time. There aren't stars in your night sky anymore, are there? They've all faded, just like you have. Go ahead, make up reasons as to why you are what you've become, give yourself a reason to keep going this way. I won't stop you, I'll even watch you burn. I do admire your courage but, when your world comes crashing around you and you're thinking about that 6 feet under your shoes, maybe you'll finally understand. You're human, you make mistakes, you fail sometimes. But you let that failure control you and wore it like a cape, like you're some kind of superhero. You used to be a hero to so many, but now you're just another washed up character in some twisted play that you've written. You don't know what will happen next, but you're hell bent on making the wrong decision without even knowing it. Keep ignoring the faces that once looked so hopeful to you, the ones who put their faith in you. They miss you, but they gave up just like you have. What am I even doing here, you won't listen to me. I mean what do I know, I'm just the reflection in the mirror. One day you'll look for me, but I won't be there anymore. Well, good luck, you're going to need it. © 2012 BsannnReviews
