Have Faith in Me

Have Faith in Me

A Poem by Bsannn

You’re standing over a cliff with your hand stretched out in front of you. You come to this cliff every time you fall for someone and beyond this cliff is a vast ocean, this ocean is you. And at the very depths of your seas lies the deepest part of you, the real you. The ground is made of solid rock, but there’s a hole in the floor.

In your hand, you’re holding a rock, a rock that has a pulse. Somewhere inside of this rock is my heart. You stare at it like you’re glancing at true happiness, you are infatuated with this rock and the feelings it brings to you. You close your eyes and dream of the day you can let go of my heart, to let it plummet to the bottom of your ocean, but you’re hesitant.

The hole in the ground is masked by the sand of rocks that you’ve dropped in the past that didn’t make it to the bottom. These rocks caused your currents to grow stronger, so strong that they are almost impenetrable. You’ve seen them fail so badly that you’ve become too afraid to drop this one, you can’t bear to watch it fall. This rock is more powerful than anything you’ve ever known and you feel it with every beat. I promise you that this rock will burst through your currents and fight until it reaches the bottom, It will be the missing piece in your foundation, I can be everything you’ve been waiting for. Have faith in me.

I liked the turn out of this one...the 3 stanzas grab you to the ending... and yet the ending is open to interpretation...will she drop the rock or not... and let go of the barrier...
