The Heart In Three Parts (part II)

The Heart In Three Parts (part II)

A Poem by Bryony Burns

 II The Heart Thinks

I thought my name was a new sound, filling the space around me
a place unfamiliar but for me.
I felt it become so well known, like the sound of my own name to me.
Summoning myself to understand what my name is;
recognizing in you what I should be
the fluid blueprint that needs my hand pressing into it to become alive.

I think it's interesting that, in your posting of the first 2 parts, the heart speaks before it thinks, and I believe that's really the way it is.

"the fluid blueprint that needs my hand pressing into it to become alive."

I like the image here of giving your name the sense of something solid and real. We all need that sense of being real, being "something" more than just a name, of being someone.

Nice write.
