A Poem by Brylee S. Hoffman

Plain and Simple, you're a player.
It's a harsh truth that I realized long ago
But i still regret what was never between us.

We were young. I was barely 15,
and boy you we're an adult.
I was falling fast, waiting for you to catch me.
but you never did.

That night.  That one damned night.
Was all i needed to leave me yearning for more.
Playing tic-tac-toe, texting, meeting in the hall.

You had me hooked.
But apparently I was just a one night stand
Nothing else to you.

You ignored me at school, walking to our neighboring classes.
But honey, I got so over you.
Months and Months later, you were nonexistent in my mind.

How dare you come to my door!
looking at me with those big brown eyes.
I was a fish caught out of water

And still,
I would give anything just to go back to that night
And do it all over again.
