Ignorance is BlissA Poem by Brylee S. HoffmanWell this poem is on the contrary of one of my previous poems...
I have been so ignorant For so long Loving a man That terrified her as a child All I can see When I think of him Is the flat wood stick Waiting For the breaking point That happened all too often When it came in contact With her precious knees I see his kind Gentle face With the wisdom of age Replaced With the drunken rage It tears me apart To have to live With that The man I love Was once A man of aggression I can never Get that thought out Of my head People do change But some Can never be forgiven I love him I hate him I’m torn between The man I have known For all my life And the man She’s known Since the day of her birth I would have Been entirely pleased If I remained Ignorant forever © 2009 Brylee S.
