Mother Lilith

Mother Lilith

A Poem by Bryad Polis Valentino
"

The true first woman, and the goddess of the dark moon, rich for Mother's Day.

"
Today is your day,

Not mine, just yours,

You were exiled,

A tribute to power,

All of your own.

Raised me as a child,

Milk to raise strong,

"With man, you don't belong."

She said, resting gently my head.

I worried that they'd do the same to me,

Demonized for what I believed.

Why can't they see?

Mother Lilith, today,

Belongs to you,

Goddess of the dark moon,

Goddess of justice,

Hear my cry,

Please, stop telling lies,

This story has inspired me,

Made me believe.

Mother, Lilith, love me,

I love you, keeper of truth,

You're my heart and soul,

The only one I'll ever know.
