Soulless Child

Soulless Child

A Poem by Bryad Polis Valentino
"

A tale of a child's descent into the underworld, where he lived a reluctant life of despair.

"
Young age, innocence,

The dark washed it away,

Becoming one, shadows,

A creature, sanguine, liar,

Joining a sacrifice,

Teacher, guardian, friend,

Initiation, worst reputation,

The child died, each night,

Forced to kill happiness,

So that he may live.

Wretched old sun,

Embodying me,

Back, you vile beast!

You haunt my soul,

Ragged and jaded,

Curse my curse,

Wretched be my fate!

Away, beast!

I have no tears anymore,

I was forced to die,

A child of the light,

They forgot the tree,

Now I walk again,

The chosen one,

To bleed, internally,

Attack your enemies,

Smiling, praying,

Beseech, don't seek my fate.
