Old Hunter's DreamA Poem by Bryad Polis ValentinoA slice of Beast Hunter poetry. Tells of a new hunter's experiences on his first hunt.
The moon vanishes,
Shrinking each night, The stars scatter, hide, The dark sky dies, Still, I'm alive. As it all disappears, Wonder, if I'm awake, Blood gushing everywhere, My clothes soaked, Tasting bitter memories, The last few nights, Where my fear has died. Joining the hunt, Initiated by a madman, Given a contract, Signing a soul away, Now long forgotten, A nightmare it has been. Tools my trick, Arcane knowledge, Vile bloodtinge, Saws and guns, Inscribed runes, Burnt into my mind. Desire only prosperity, My heart shallow, My pulse quickening, The hunt begins, Again and again. One last echo, Chosen from below, To be a pawn, Moon presence, All in a dream, One of nightmares. Liars, fires, mires, Twisted vision, Waking death, Heartless breaths. Dancing beasts, Your life, I beseech. © 2019 Bryad Polis ValentinoAuthor's Note
