A Promise that I Make

This was one of my first poems that I was able to share with people. It means a lot to me, thanks for reading.

In days to come when your world

Is turned upside down you will

Remember this promise:

As long as the wind carries sound,

The ocean carries salt,

& Time moves swiftly

I will believe in you

When you cannot believe in yourself…

I will believe in you

As long as my heart beats,

Blood runs through my veins,

& Ever after…

I will love you

When others turn away and

You cannot love yourself …

I will love you

As long as the birds sing,

The water flows,

& the stars twinkle…

I will see your beauty

When you find no good

 In your reflection…

You will see your beauty

 Shining through my eyes.

As long as pain and sorrow

Walk side by side

& blood is shed…

I will protect you

When my spirit parts and

You feel alone and scared remember

I am your guardian angel

I will always protect you in life & death

From this moment on,

A promise I do make…

I will protect you from

 The hurts of the world….

I will love you with

All of my heart & soul

&& I will believe in you
