Trials

A Poem by Bryan A. Tann
"

This is my second poem. I suppose I have gone through a great deal in the last few months.

"

As a boy I was told to be true to myself
To never allow who I am to be hindered by hurt.
Always speak true words and never allow the outside to destroy within.
It is oh so hard to be the man I should be.
Those who are my allies portray themselves as enemies.
To be myself causes hearts of umbrage and words of bile.
To even disagree just in the slightest makes you the enemy in the fullest.
Fight not in their wars, and you are traitorous and shunned.
To be is beyond uneasy.
To be is pain with no pleasure.
To be is the greatest trial there could be.
