EternalA Poem by Bryan WebbAnother old piece I found rummaging through some drawers.Eternal A Goddess walks the beach, alone A sorrow in her heart that cannot be shown With long, dark, hair and with skin, tan, and kissed by flame A man would be lucky just to know her name She’s upset for if she’s the Goddess she’s been told She will never die, and her lover shall grow old She stops and looks to watch the sun set She cannot help but weep here at the place they first met Soon she gasps, as a moan escapes her lips Feeling strong, loving, hands rest upon her hips She turns quickly to see the man she loves there Wrapping her in his arms and vanquishing her wares A man with dark hair and tan skin the same Anyone would think he’s a God by any name He’s the one who calls her the Goddess that she is Now she would know, he’s been a God since they were kids “How is it that you became a God?” She asks with a sigh He replied, “Because true love is Eternal, just like you and I.”© 2016 Bryan WebbReviews
