Set Me Free

Set Me Free

A Poem by Don Shaw
"

Living in His will ,comes with a price !

"

              Set Me Free

Walking in His will can be times of a , silent fate
Feeling the pain of a an echoed gait .
Oh doing  His work on a silent road.
Waiting for the harvest of the seeds I`d sowed.

                           Set me free Father,
                           oh set me free.
                           Set me free Father,
                           oh set me free.
                           Set me free Father,
                           oh set me free.
                           Set me free Father,
oh please set me free Father, of what i know as ME.

Oh a empty heart, and an aching  soul.
The peeling away of HIS truth untold.
Screaming out into the heavenly skies.
For believing all of the enemies  lies.

                          Set me free Father,
                          oh set me free.
                          Set me free Father,
                          oh set me free.
                          Set me free Father,
                          oh set me free.
                          Set me free Father,
oh please set me free Father, of what i know as ME.

He covered me with His loving grace,
                          and His heart felt love.
                          It descended down upon me,
                          from heaven above.
                          My chains have been broken.
                          I am shackled no more.
                          Freedom from the Father,
                          and His love i adore.

                          Thank you for the peace,
                          Father.
                          Thank you for the peace,
                          Father.
                          Thank you for the peace,
                          Father.
Once i surrendered the LIE, to You,
                          my pain began to cease,
                          my pain began to cease.

amen. This is a great stand alone poem but I would love to hear it sung. So many great poets take their gift and give it out to the wider audience - craving that validation but when i read a great poet who is giving that gift back to the Giver of All Great Gifts, it gives me hope. Well penned.

This tells the tale well the addiction need not be the end and we all have it within us to fight it.

Indeed a moving and powerful piece with an uplifting story to tell. Read like a song with tight verses and a chorus. Everyone has to believe in something but true faith starts with belief in self and responsibility for the actions we take or fail to take.

Certainly a worthy plea to the only ONE who can truly set us free!!! I hope you are having these put to music - your lyrics are wonderful!!
Let us all commit ourselves to be free to know the joy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!

Set me free, Father...
Oh, yes...that has been my song, as well. Satan had me well and truly chained, in chains he had crafted from my own ego...
You have told It so beautifully, so perfectly! I couldn't have done a better job myself.
Now all we need are the little black dots (musical score)...
