What You May Not Understand About Prophecy

What You May Not Understand About Prophecy

A Story by Brother Jacob

Timing: First of prophecy isn't fulfilled in our timing, but in God's timing.

Example: God told Noah that there was going to be a flood that was going to wipe away the entire population, except for him and his family. It took Noah 120 years to build the ark. According to Genesis Chapter 7 verse 6, Noah was 600 years old when the flood came.

Change and the Inevitable: We read in Isaiah Chapter 38 beginning at verse 1, There was a king of Judah by the name of Hezekiah. Hezekiah becomes ill one day. The Lord had sent his servant Isaiah to Hezekiah, and the Lord said to Isaiah to tell him that this is what the Lord saith, "have things in order for you are going to die." Isaiah gave the word to Hezekiah. Hezekiah turns his face to the wall and began to weep, and had prayed to the Lord. Isaiah was leaving and all of a sudden God spoke unto Isaiah and said, “Go and tell Hezekiah that this is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life - Isaiah 38:5

Humility, prayer, and repentance, can change certain situations and certain circumstances in our everyday lives, but there are some things that must come to pass in the world that is inevitable; if scripture says it, in God's timing, not our timing it will be fulfilled.
