Bring Us Out

Bring Us Out

A Poem by Brother Jacob

Bring Us Out

Jesus came walking upon the sea.
We wondered how this could be.
We were scared to death, we thought it was His Ghost.
At least that's what we diagnosed.

A miracle before our eyes, Jesus displayed.
He began to say, " take courage for it is I, don't be afraid."
Peter wanted to know if it was really Jesus he did see.
Peter said, " Lord if it is you, bid me come on the water, to Thee.
Jesus said, "come." And Peter got out of the boat.
And on his feet, Peter stayed afloat.

As long as Peter kept his eyes on Jesus, above the water he would stay.
If Peter took his eyes off Jesus, he would slip away.
Peter saw the strength of the wind and, he began to fear.
Peter started to slip, but Jesus, He was near.

Peter cried out, "Lord save me."
Jesus stretched out His hand and lifted Peter from the sea.
Jesus said, "Oh ye of little faith, why do you doubt?"
We all must have faith in Jesus, to bring us out.
