Zaccheus

Zaccheus

A Poem by Brother Jacob

I once was a tax collector, who was very greedy. I cheated the poor, and the needy. Outside I was a small man, but inside I was even smaller. I was in love with money, oh the foul dollar. One day Jesus came to Jericho. Who was He? I did not know. As Jesus arrived, Him I couldn't see. So, I climbed a sycamore tree. For I was a tax collector, and a sinner. But the Savior came, to my house for dinner. I corrected my wrong doings, and gave half of my very own possessions to the poor. And I gave my heart to Jesus, I was a sinner no more. I am Zaccheus; I'm sure you heard of me. I'm that wee little man, I am he. The one who’s climbed a sycamore tree (Luke 19:1-10)
