Blue Soldiers

Blue Soldiers

A Poem by The Brooklyn Nomad
"

Kinda self evident, if not look to recent events of social and racial injustice in the U.S. and you should figure it out. Just wrote this on the spot due from boredom but is serious subject

"
Adorned in blue, the soldiers march

They march for freedom, or so they thought
They march for justice, yet it is naught

With golden shield, upon their chest
WIth sword of black, never at rest

A cause once noble, moral and just
A cause now filthy, one lead by lust

There does remain, a small kind few
Just to their cause, respect is due

But arms of tyranny, most have become
Once sight of safety, this sight now done

They serve the few, yet not the many
Now time is due, for change aplenty

bitter reality. A strong poem. Rhyming was nicely done, except for the last line that didn't seem to follow the rhyming pattern.
