Change

A Poem by Brook

I am the butterflies in your stomach
when he first kissed your face, I am the
palpitations you felt when he touched your waist.

I am the make up around your eyes,
I rolled down your cheek mixed with tears
when he first told you those lies.

I am the hair band around your delicate
brunette hair, I kept the hair off your
face when he wanted to stare.

I am the paper that said divorce, I
am the feeling of remorse. I am the sadness,
The pain, and the bittersweet. I will disappear
when a new he decides it's you he will greet.

Love it.

Instead of being a cheesy, and over-thought poem, you made it simple. x

Thank you Jess x
Love how you chose to write about the feeling of being in love and seeing your love instead of love itself, I think it's brilliant. Great job!

Ah! Very beautiful. Even though it's sad, I had a strange smile for the amazing metaphors you used here. This is so real. A wonderful read. :D

Thank you. :)
I like how the "i" is the reason for every feeling in the poem. I felt a touch lost on the last line, but that could just be the way I interpret it.

Holy moly, girl you write so eloquently and I cannot tell you how much this effected me, I just didn't want to stop reading. This was so bittersweet and yet, I have not seen the movie but will need to check it out thanks to this amazing poem.
