You & MeA Poem by BrookGripping on so tightly, because i'm afraid you'll disappear.Gripping on so tightly, because i'm afraid you'll disappear. "I'm not your father, my dear. I'm not going anywhere, i'm staying right here. " Your reassurance is like raindrops on cloth. Eventually, it dries out. And i'm back to feeling like time is ticking, and that you're a step closer to leaving. Crying, breathing fast, please, oh please i want this to last. Gripping on so tightly, because i'm afraid you'll disappear. "I'm not your father, my dear. I'm not going anywhere, i'm staying right here. " Baby, your words are sincere, but my heart needs you here. Next time i hold you, i'll grip a little tightly, because at least i can say i tried. But, there just wasn't enough time.
