Mistakes

Mistakes

A Poem by Tellie Allen

Mistakes were made

I didn’t realize til my world started to fade.

That look you gave

Just completely save

Me, from myself.

I feel as if I was a book on your shelf

Forgotten and torn.

Unwritten, untouched, unborn.

A story that needed to be told

Just sat on a shelf waiting to be unfold.

They said I was crazy

And that my heart was lazy.

Only true love’s kiss

Could take me out of this bliss.

That’s all in my mind

Searching unfind

What I need

Is my heart to feed

And all this caused by

That one look in your eye.
