Chapter 20A Chapter by Tellie Allen“Here you go Mr. Smith,” a short woman said handing Jake an envelope. She was short and kind of round. She had wirey red hair like flames. She had freckles covering her face like mini pepperoni on a pizza. “Thanks Tami,” he grabbed the envelope, passing it to me. “I like her, she is nice. I mean at the bank my mom goes to she always has mean people.” “Ha-ha. I always ask for Tami. She is amazing. She counts the money eight times to make sure its all there.” “Damn. She must really like please people.” “Maybe.” “So where do you want to go Jake?” “Depends. What are you looking to buy?” “Clothes, make up, and a journal or two.” “Well you have clothes. The ones you wear are the ones she can’t wear. Didn’t you know my sister is pregnant. She lives with the father.” “Oh.” “And wear do you normally go to get make up?” “Depends sometimes at the nearest dollar store or the closest cheap store.” “So Wal-Mart then?” “Ha-ha yeah that will work.” “Best part is they have those machines you just sit and push a button and you go if you want.” “You mean automatic carts? And sure maybe it will help. The metal is digging into my leg.” “We should pick of some wrap then as well.” “Maybe.” © 2012 Tellie Allen |
