my audition

A Poem by Tellie Allen

stand up straight. head held high.
take a breathe. dont be shy.
hide the fear in your face
just keep breathing at a normal pace.
close your eyes and let it go
hoping it is all you know.
finally finish take a bow
listen to the applause get loud
open your eyes and paste a smile
this moment of fame only lasts a little while.
take a left off the stage
then look back on what you engaged
the way they loved what you did
even without feeling undid
or worthless or unable
cause they all will be at your stable
