Silently Bleeding

Silently Bleeding

A Poem by Katie
"

A poem about thoughts of suicide.

"

Blood filling the tub
Staining it
Taking my life
Ending this pain

Scars that won't heal
But it doesn't matter anymore
No one will see them when I'm dead
And no one will care

They will wonder why
Such a young happy girl
Would end her life
At her own will

They won't understand
So much blood all around
So much you can smell it
Not understanding that all this time
She's been silently bleeding inside

Wow. What a powerful poem. I have heard that in most cases of suicide, it is not the depression, it is the sense of complete hopelessness. The sense that things will never get better. I think that you have conveyed that really well.

The closing lines really evoke emotion in the reader.

"Not understanding that all this time
She's been silently bleeding inside"

It speaks to the insensitivity of others as well as to clandestine nature of keeping feelings hidden until consumed by them.

This is really quite good!

I really loved the final lines. Sometimes suicide seems to spuratic (sp?) and almost as if it came out of nowhere, but what people don't realize is that it's something that people consider over and over, until it builds up so strongly within them. Great job capturing this with your words. :)
