The Girl with the Demon Ways.

The Girl with the Demon Ways.

A Poem by BeatricePortinari.

She looks upon your face
Like the light of the world
Shines never ending rays
Through your eyes.

They burn hers like the sun
Your simple presence
is like chocolate down her throat
Your words are honey
Slipping through her fingers

You smell like water
And you walk like someone
Who has never lost enough
To say they know pain.

She thanks you gently
And begins to walk away
But he grabs her small arm
And brings her back to him.

Her breath returns in ragged gasps
And she cannot help
The scarlet blush as it pulls
Against her ruffled collar.

Shall we dance?
You whisper slow
As you twirl her around
The mosaic floor

Her shoes fall back into the beat
And her arms move
Expertly around your waist
The music flares
And she dips toward the floor

But then the only sound
Is voices rebounding from
These gilded walls.

Her lips fall against
His rough cheek
As she turns on her heel
In a simple gait

She has red lips
Deep like blood,
Her sea green eyes
Seethe with fun
As she throws a wicked glance across
Her alabaster shoulder
And smiles like gold.

For now, darling
She says to him
As she walks away
Two hands on slim hips.
