Anatomy of These

Anatomy of These

A Poem by BeatricePortinari.
"

A torrid tale... Nah, I just felt the need to write something here.

"
You were blind
Those eyes of yours
Shone pale and glassy
In the light of afternoons lost

I managed a thin smile
Your hand traced my face
You said you could see me
Through feeling the lines
Written deep along these smiles

There was something there
In reading me like a book
Opening the pages and,
Though all the trouble that it took,
Learning me through.

Though my eyes were clear as words
You seemed to see the truth beneath these skirts
But then you sing these tales of love
And pain and I can't help but reply
That you, my sweet, have me everyday

And you'll look at me
And all you'll be is what I need
